It's an outgrowth/evolution/etc of LiveJournal, so it shares a lot of the same code. One of the things I really like about it is that the Who I Read and Who Can Read Me lists are separate. So I can read people without letting them read me, or let someone read me without reading them. It's a lot less drama-llama inducing than 'friending/defriending' people. ^_~
