TITLE: I Wish
FANDOM: Labyrinth
LENGTH/RAITING: 100 words, PG
PAIRING/WARNINGS: None
SUMMARY: The story was always the same...

He was a story, the oldest of fables passed around winter fires. A moral from a darker age, reshaped each time the words were spoken. Once upon a time...

Some learned from listening, some from living; those he led through the twists and turns to find the answers the Labyrinth hid. Every time the story was different, and every time it was the same. He was whatever they asked of him, because in the end it wasn't him they came for. My kingdom is as great...

And then, one day, it was.

"I wish the goblins would take me away."

TITLE: Magpie Years
FANDOM: Narnia
LENGTH/RATING: 100 words, PG
SHIPS/WARNINGS: None
SUMMARY: Some things you never get back...

It never occurred to them to ask if they could go home again; old lives somehow forgotten in the ebb and flow of Narnian life. If Peter ever wonders why, he's never said, and Susan's learned better than to stir up old memories.

Because in the end, they hadn't been asked at all.

Thrust out of one world and into another, their lives reset without pardon or apology. Somehow it's crueler, that temporal forgiveness, than the actual loss of fourteen years. Because everything's the same here, except for them, and Susan wonders if they'll ever win back what Narnia stole.

TITLE: Old Eyes
FANDOM: Narnia
LENGTH/RATING: 100 words, PG/Dark
FEATURING: Helen Pevensie (mother)
SHIPS/WARNINGS: None
SUMMARY: The heart remembers what the mind forgets.

At first she thought it was the war, the separation, shared trauma that had made them old before their time. But the moments built, one upon another, until she couldn't cling to that hope any longer. Snatches of conversation she was never meant to hear, gestures, movements, the way they held themselves when no one was looking. It reminded her of royalty, royalty and age, with the eyes of those who'd been through war somewhere other than the country. Like flashes of lighting, these four strangers who looked out from familiar eyes.

But they were still her children... weren't they?

LENGTH/RATING: 100 words, PG
PAIRING/WARNINGS: None
SUMMARY: Sarah: That's not fair! Jareth: You say that so often, I wonder what your basis for comparison is.

Give me your unwanted, unnoticed, discarded; your lost who's only crime was oblivious parents, jealous step-sisters. Give them to me and I will harbor them myself, for I have none of my own. There are no births here, no deaths, just the dry caress of thwarted time.

And if you come for them, eyes red from crying, finally realizing what you'd given away, why so shocked when I make you work to win them free? You knew the stories, yet you left the window unlocked, spoke the words to wish them into immortality.

I am not so foolish, nor forgiving.
