SUMMARY: Secrets she hadn’t meant anyone to see... Ant is packing Amy's things to send home to her parents when he finds something unexpected.
He hadn't meant to find them, hidden in the crack between the bed and the wall. He hadn't even realized they'd existed to be found. They were secrets she hadn’t meant anyone to see... and now he has no one to apologize to.
Ant sank onto the bed, a flock of miniature letters in hand. They'd been carefully folded, each scrap of colored paper transformed into a tiny crane, with Amy's distinctive script covering every surface.
He should-- actually he doesn't know what he should do. He can't put them back, quarters are already cramped and there's a scientist waiting to moving in. He can't send them to Earth; not when he knows someone else will read them, edit them until the swans are striped in black redactions.
He shouldn't keep them, and he shouldn't read them. But he does.
