Gate Team 5 stared at the towel racks for a long thoughtful moment, abandoned by their native guide who had not quite ditched them in the middle of an alien jungle. An alien jungle that apparently knew how to accessorize.

"What do you suppose he meant by 'explosive growth'?"

Several fun-filled hours later they mastered the art of telling dead-and-thus-safely-inert seedpods from attractively-packaged-leafy-green-bundles-of-death. Actually, Matt had mastered the art of setting-off-explosions-from-a-distance-with-inappropriate-amounts-of-amusement, and Amy was working on poking-things-with-a-very-long-stick, in the hopes of securing a pinecone containing screws and not squirrels. Or whatever they were calling the bright orange rodents with a taste for metal and a nasty possessive streak. (Gate Team 5 had learned to stop suggesting names for wildlife in their mission reports, it just made Sam sigh heavily and pull out her red pen.)

The first swan is sky blue; outspread wings bleached white by time. Made from an Earth origami square and written with blue glitter pen, it's the oldest in the flock. Ant unfolds it carefully, his world shrinking down to a three inch square of blue on blue.

Hey Jonny, it's me again.

He almost puts it down again, because Johnny had been her twin and letters between the dead seem somehow sacred. But this is all he has left of her, and he can't let go.

I know you won't ever read this, but you're the only one I can talk to. Everything's classified, everything. They made me sign this whole stack of paperwork before they'd tell me what I was signing up for. If Jess hadn't pushed me I would have backed out. This is big Jonny, really big. If I told anyone, I think they'd kill me.

Or they'd sue me, one of the two. I'm more afraid of the lawyers.

He remembers his own pile of paperwork and the sickening drop in his stomach when he'd learned just what his CO had talked him into. At least Amy had already been in the Stargate program, Ant had been just a marine.

Not that they'd believe me, even if I told them. Another galaxy Jonny, not just another planet-- and how bad does that sound that I can say 'just another planet'? But can you believe it? Another galaxy. It's not one-way trip anymore either, just another two-year tour, extendable. But really, how do you come back from that? Only six months in Japan, and three years later I'm still carrying those habits. God Jonny, who am I going to be after two years?

He'd forgotten she'd been part of the second wave; she'd never talked about going home. Most of them did, the ones that saw Atlantis as just another war zone, constantly focused on putting in their time and then getting back to Earth and on with life. Amy never had. He wondered if she'd been proud of who she'd become.

But I can't say no. You would have gone, wouldn't you? I keep my promises Jonny-boy, you know I do.

She'd been living for both of them ever since the accident, Ant had known that, but he hadn't realized just how much she'd shaped her life into Jonathan's memorial. Now, staring at the faded swans he wonders how many other things he didn’t know.

Name: Amy Elizabeth Myer. Nicknamed 'Sunshine' by her father, teased mercilessly by her twin about said nickname.

Verse: Stargate Atlantis - Imaginary Gate Team 5. Not so much an AU as a 'Things Happening Offscreen'.

Physical

Species: Human

Hair: Pale straw blond, kept short when she's stressed (as she has a habit of chopping it off) but has grown out from time to time.

Eyes: Blue, but not pale blue, or ice blue, or piercing blue, or any such nonsense. Just everyday ordinary blue.

Special Abilities: Had a very weak gift for using ancient technology. Can form a only-slightly-stronger gestalt with Ant and Matt, but it works best under stress. For a few moments after the gestalt they share memories and knowledge-based skills (languages, medical knowledge, etc)

Age: 24ish, born in late April

Health: Good, no known issues

Height/Build: 5'5", athletic (in the Marines, duh)

Tattoos/scars/etc: Small Gemini symbol at the base of her skull (in memory of her brother), normally covered by hair.

Social

Family: Mother, Mary Stark Myer, father Issac Myer. Her twin (Johnathon) died in a car accident her first (and last) semester in college. Her mother has three siblings, her father has five. Lots and lots of extended family to go around, which makes her the odd one out as a (now) only-child.

Personality: Chirpy, out-going, perky... etc. One of those annoying cheerful morning people who has no clue just how annoying she is.

Friends: Amy gets along better with Matt then anyone else on the team. Ant is her second favorite person, but he's not outgoing/energetic/insane enough to keep up with her half the time. Which is a good thing.

Enemies: Rodney The Grumpy. (on the flip side, Rodney the Not-Grumpy is considered harmless)

Significant Others: None, per se, although she has a very low key relationship with Ant and is much more open to short term attachments. Her job normally moves her around a lot and she's not planning on staying in the Pegasus galaxy long term.

Education: She went to college in New York for the first semester of her freshman year (undeclared)

Job: Sergent (E-5) in the Marines. MOS 5711, Nuclear Biological and Chemical (NBC) Defense Specialist. Currently stationed in Atlantis, came over in the 'second wave' with the Deadelus.

Clothing Styles/Preferences: Has two extremes, laid-back BDUs and dressed-to-the-nines. Doesn't have much of chance to dress up in Pegasus and latches onto any opportunity that presents itself.

Amy, our beloved Undeclared Major turned Marine is the baby of the bunch. She joined the marines half-way through her Freshman year which makes her 19 and is only a E-5. So she's 19 + 4.5 = 24ish!

I write such evil evil run-on train of thoughts. ^_^ Need to turn this into something more palitable to readers, but this is the 'wonder trio powers active' story from Amy's POV. I'll probably be polishing a lot of this at the model horse show Saturday as I am just being a general gopher and don't seem to have that much to do. ^_^;;
